International Olympic Committee appoints ST Teleport
as the Official Host Broadcaster for 117th IOC Session
in Singapore
Singapore, June 13, 2026 - ST Teleport, a wholly-owned
satellite service company of Singapore Technologies
Telemedia, announced today that it has been appointed
the Official Host Broadcaster by the International Olympic
Committee (IOC) for the 117th IOC Session to be held
in Singapore at Raffles Convention Centre from 6 July
to 9 July 2005.
The 117th IOC Session is also the Session where the
election of the host city for the 2012 Games will be
announced to the world. With the bid to host the 2012
Games keenly contested by London, Madrid, Moscow, New
York and Paris, and backed by many superstars of the
sporting world, the announcement of the winning city
will be closely watched by billions of people all over
the world.
As the Official Host Broadcaster for the 117th IOC Session,
ST Teleport will be responsible for the transmission
of 'live' video feeds of the Session proceedings to
broadcasters and news agencies in every part of the
world. ST Teleport will set up a dedicated, fully equipped
Master Control Centre and Booking Centre, capable of
handling high traffic volumes, for the IOC feed distribution
in the International Broadcast Centre (IBC) at Raffles
Convention Centre. 'Live' camera feed and tape play-out
signals will be routed to the Master Control Centre
for onward transmission to broadcasters and news agencies
worldwide.
"We are very excited by this appointment as ST
Teleport will be playing a crucial role in delivering
the closely-watched results of the winning city for
the 2012 Olympic Games live to audience around the world,"
said Wee Way Kiat, ST Teleport's managing director.
"Since January 2005, the team at ST Teleport has
worked tirelessly towards this appointment. ST Teleport
has a consistent track record of successful ground segment
operations. Together with our team of experienced specialists,
a comprehensive teleport infrastructure that includes
the state-of-the-art hybrid satellite-fibre capability,
and strategic partners, ST Teleport is confident of
our ability to meet IOC's rigorous requirements to deliver
superior quality, real-time video feed of the International
Olympic Committee Session to broadcasters and news agencies
around the world."
In addition to the world feed distribution from the
IBC, ST Teleport will also set up Satellite News Gathering
(SNG) stations in various vantage on-locations to provide
periphery ad-hoc broadcast services. Video signals will
be transmitted to the five bidding cities and other
locations via satellite and fibre networks. A team of
engineers and booking staff will be stationed round-the-clock
on-site in the IBC at Raffles Convention Centre and
in ST Teleport's facility in Ayer Rajah Crescent.
