ST Teleport serves Asia’s broadcasting,
telecommunications and corporate markets,
supporting television networks and providing
satellite communications and value-added
services including satellite uplink/downlink
and turnaround, programme origination and
playout, on-site SNG services, international
gateway and VSAT services, IP multicast, and
studio services.
Since its inception in 1994, ST Teleport’s
operation grew to a full-fledged earth station
centre with more than 20 satellite antennae
and processes more than 50 channels through
its facility. It also operates an STM-1 fibre link
between its Singapore facility and its video /
Data PoP in Los Angeles, California, USA.
Through this fibre link, ST Teleport provides
switched digital video services for broadcasters
interested in having their content delivered across the |
Pacific Ocean. ST
Teleport also offers data/IP services on this
link with IP transit connection with a tier-one
operator in the United States.
ST Teleport’s hybrid satellite-fibre infrastructure
and services are recognised worldwide in
the industry as one of the best in Asia. Major
operators also adopt the infrastructure as part
of their global hybrid satellite-fibre network. In
July 2005, the International Olympic Committee
appointed ST Teleport as the Host Broadcaster
for the 117th IOC Session held in Singapore and
where the host city for the 2012 Olympics was
elected and broadcast worldwide. ST Teleport
has been in operation since 1994. |
